(NB - this document was originally from Nelson City Council's website )

Public asked for North Nelson to Brightwater views

Consultation closes 17 August 2007

Transit New Zealand, in partnership with Nelson City Council and Tasman District Council, is urging the public to make their views known on the North Nelson to Brightwater Corridor Study from 9 July to 17 August.

Learn about the Transit NZ Corridor Study and have your say.

Final Stage Two report released

The Corridor Study project team has released the Stage Two Consultation Findings, and is currently developing a preferred strategy.

474 submissions were received; 447 from individuals and 27 from organisations. The overall preferred approach was for Package D: Enhanced Roading Improvements.

The route along the old railway corridor from Beatsons Rd to Victory Square (southern link) was favoured by the majority of respondents, and there was widespread opposition to associated widening of Waimea and Rocks Rd.
